The session will review the leading federal tax developments of March 2021. Besides the implications of the one-month extension in the individual filing deadline, the program’s emphasis will be on the tax provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The legislation retroactively created a partial exclusion for 2020 unemployment benefits. For 2021, it modified the child tax credit, the dependent care credit, and the earned income credit.
