Course Description

This webinar will cover changes in the law applicable to required minimum distributions (RMDs) from qualified retirement plans and IRAs that have been enacted over the last two years. This webinar will also discuss strategies for responding to these changes, when these changes become effective, and the possible need to revise estate planning documents. This course will also include a review of those provisions of the law relating to RMDs that have not been changed and remain in effect.

  • Identify how the rules for required minimum distributions from qualified retirement plans have been changed by recent legislation

  • Recognize how to deal with the elimination of the lifetime stretch out for beneficiaries

  • Identify when the increase in age for commencing distributions becomes effective

  • Identify which required minimum distributions can be avoided during 2020
